John Day was born about 1750.He is mentioned in the book Genealogical Records of Buckingham County. Listed as an adult subject to English tythes Buckingham Co. 1773 & 1774 and on the tax list of 1800.

He and his wife, Frances, had eight children and their names and birthdates are entries in the Tillotson Parish Church of England Book of Common Prayer c1761, as noted in a family history in possession of a family member descended from their first son, Benjamin Day.

They lived in the New Canton area of Buckingham Co. where Slate River empties into the James River. It is approximately 10 miles from Tillotson Parish.After the Revolution, the Church of England became the Episcopal Church.Tillotson Parish closed and was later bought by the Baptist Church in 1771, with Rene Chastain as pastor.They have preserved the original section of the church.
